1-I originally found “avidly” to mean “with enthusiasm” or “enthusiastically” to which I thought actually fit the sentence better. Nevertheless, I do see how it can be misinterpreted and that is my bad.

4-As for the ride, I meant it to be described as one of those old, mysterious boat ride thingies through a tunnel that isn’t necessarily scary, but can tend to have certain pictures or figures in the ride that may (but usually won’t) scare people. Lights and sounds would also be within the ride, which I do believe I described in the last chapter. I remember riding a boat quite similar when I was only 5 or 6, and it definitely was not scary by any means! More tranquil that anything else to be honest
