Surrogate Scene 159

Hailey had found the athletic pants that she’d worn over her diaper previously, and began to pull off the shorts she was currently wearing so she could change. “No, it’s too risky. I don’t want my parents to know I want them for my own sake, and I don’t know if I’d be able to change without my dad knowing, since we’d have to get the backpack with the diapers anyway. Just getting the chance to wear them is good enough for me, though; and maybe I’ll get a chance to use it when we get home.”

“I see. I hope I don’t have to use mine either… but I guess we’ll find out.”

Soon enough Hailey was dressed in her athletic pants, with her diaper underneath. It took a little longer to find clothes for Erin, since she didn’t yet have a significant wardrobe at Hailey’s house. Eventually, Hailey loaned her a pair of loose shorts; with an oversized T-shirt over the top, Hailey couldn’t tell that Erin was wearing a diaper. They both headed downstairs to get Hailey’s mother’s approval.

The girls had done a good job with their selection, Sue noted. Nobody could reasonably look at them and tell that they were wearing anything unusual. “Good job,” she praised, “your secret’s pretty well hidden.”

She looked at Erin. “Now, I hope you don’t need to change. But if you do, just take the backpack I packed to a bathroom stall and change yourself there. Don’t stay in a wet diaper too long.”

Erin nodded. She had an odd feeling that she should be embarrassed talking to her aunt about such private matters, but she honestly was nonchalant. Since her family already knew about her problems, she saw no reason to treat any discussion about it any different from a simple statement of facts. And, after all, she’d been joking with Hailey about it earlier; her little problems just weren’t a big issue within this household.

The girls headed outside and climbed into the back seat of Martin’s car, Erin toting her backpack of changing supplies.
