A Spell Against Spite and Gossip

Throughout our lives, we sometimes encounter people who aren’t so pleasant. I’d like to introduce a spell that could come in handy for many of us.

In the past, witches would create protective bottles—filled with rusty nails, soured red wine (or even urine), and sprigs of rosemary—then bury them beneath the threshold to ward off ill will.

Let’s look at a modern twist on this old tradition.

What you’ll need: a dark glass bottle with a cork, some sour milk, leftover red wine,

and dried rosemary.

Method: Pour the sour milk, wine, and rosemary into the bottle. As you do, recite:

Bitterness and bile,

cruelty and spite,

emotions gone sour,

jealousy and sharp words,

depart!

Seal the bottle tightly and shake it over your sink. While shaking, say:

Clot and coil,

snakes of malice,

slither past me,

strike elsewhere,

cause no harm.

Open the bottle and rinse it under cold water until the contents are washed away and both bottle and sink are clean. As you do this, picture all the negativity and harsh words being swept down the drain.

Add a few drops of tea tree oil to the bottle, swirl it, pour a little into the drain, and rinse again. As you do, say:

Let anger fade,

leave in peace.

Remember: You haven’t retaliated or sent harm back. You may notice the other person’s attitude improves next time you meet. If you’re dealing with someone who drains your energy, try adding powdered garlic to the mixture.
